What exactly is Chia?

Chia is a seed from a plant that grows in Mexico and neighboring countries. Chia is actually a part of the mint family.
Some folks call chia a 'Superfood".

Chia is loaded in certain beneficial vitamin B's. Chia is also rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Because of what chia has in it, people believe that chia can help with issues with blood pressure, joint pain, and so much more. That is why some call chia a "superfood".

I like to classify foods that are regarded as "superfoods" as foods that I will use in healthier recipes.

Yes, chocolate and pudding are favorite desserts for many of us. And yes, there is a way to work some chia into that chocolate pudding to make recipes even better.

Chocolate Chia Pudding

This recipe can be made sugar free.

Simply use Greek Yogurt. cocoa powder, and syrup with no sugar added .

The best of many worlds come together when we combine chia seeds with chocolate in a pudding.


- 1. Vanilla Flavored Almond Milk- 1 cup

- 2. Greek Yogurt- 1 cup

- 3. Cocoa Powder- 1/4 cup

- 4. Vanilla Extract- 1 tsp

- 5. Maple Syrup- 2 tablespoons

- 6. Chia seeds- 1/4 cup




- -In a mixing bowl, whisk together all ingredients except for the chia seeds.

- -Whisk in your chia seeds. Allow to sit for 25-30 minutes- stirring every 5-20 minutes as needed to distribute the seeds.

- - Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  1. I might actually be able to get my kids to eat Chia if I made this!! They won't drink fruit smoothies with it, but they REALLY love pudding of any kind. It looks delicious.
