Parchment paper has quickly become one of my go-to must-haves.

14 of the Best Uses for PARCHMENT PAPER

I remember once when I had just purchased new baking sheets and was baking a popular pan cookie dessert. I pre-treated the pan, just as many of us do, with baking spray. What I was left with after baking my delicious dessert was a stained pan with stuck-on food.

Then I discovered parchment paper.

I use parchment paper for just about anything that goes into my oven it seems these days.
Parchment paper has not only become my best friend when it comes to baking cookies and other desserts. Parchment paper is my friend when I make homemade pizzas.

I make homemade pizza just about every week. I use to treat the pizza pans with every kind of 'professionally suggested' idea- from corn meal to olive oil. I still had a stuck on nightmare. Then I tried making my pizzas on parchment paper.

The beauty of using parchment paper under my pizzas is that I can roll out my dough on the parchment paper and easily transport the crust on it's paper to the pan for topping and baking.

Using parchment paper for pizza baking was pretty much a "DUH" moment for me.
Not only was I preparing my pizza dough and easily transporting it to the pant with the paper, I was having close to zero cleanup on the pan. A total "duh" moment for me.

Not sure what you can use parchment paper for? Try these ideas.

  1. Make a really cool looking snack cone out of a piece of parchment paper by rolling it up like an ice cream cone. Kids will especially enjoy eating a snack on the go out of a parchment paper cone.
  2. Homemade muffin tin or ramekin liners are a cinch when you cut out a square of parchment paper and use a cup or mug to help you fit it into what you are lining.
  3. Store sliced cheeses with a bit of parchment paper between the slices to prevent the slices from sticking together.
  4. Line a drawer with parchment paper. White parchment paper will make it easier to see what is inside of the drawer and will help catch dirt and stains. Parchment paper will help make for an easy drawer cleanup- simply lift the paper out of the drawer catching other items with it!

  7. Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper the next time you bake cookies. The cookies will not only lift off easily, they probably won't burn.
  8. Freeze items, such as pre-made cookies or patties, with parchment paper between each item to keep them from sticking.
  9. I use parchment paper in baking pans when I am making something such as cereal bars or oatmeal and peanut butter bars. When the bars set, all you need to do is lift them out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut them into pieces.

  12. Parchment paper can sometimes be reused especially when you are baking multiple batches of goodies such as cookies.

  15. Line a box or other container with parchment paper if you are giving some tasty homemade gifts to someone for a more professional look.
  16. Parchment paper is an easy cleaning method when you are dealing with dry ingredients such as with measuring. Place a piece of the parchment paper under your work area and when the dry ingredient misses it's target (bowl, jar...) it will fall onto the paper. Then you can use the paper to easily pour the dry ingredient back.
