Delicious! Apple Crumble Bake

Somehow, I have managed to amass a large collection of apples.
This seems to happen to me every year after I have spent the fall apple season collecting just about every kind apple that I can buy or pick.

Making an apple crumble is something that I make every year with all of the apples that I have in my collection.

Every November I think of myself as an 'Apple Hoarder'. It is easy to accumulate a lot of apples, of many varieties, when they are in season.

I am not sure what I like better about an apple crisp.

Apple crisps really do smell good when they are baking in the oven. A baking apple crisp is a festive and wonderful way to impress the guests that I have invited over to my home. Not only do I love the smell of a baking apple crisp, I really love the taste of warm apples with the yummy, crispy, buttery topping that goes with it.

What do you eat your apple crisp with?

Ask a dozen people what they eat their apple crisp with and you will probably hear a few folks say that they enjoy it with ice cream. Cold ice cream (vanilla) on the top of a warm apple crisp really makes for a perfect fall treat.

What kind of apple do you use in an apple crisp?
This can be a topic of discussion.
A lot of people prefer the green apples- The Granny Smith and Golden Delicious come to mind as popular choices.
Other people like the traditional apple pie apples. Honey Crisp is a popular apple as well as Fuji, McIntosh and Empire. Many of these apples may not be available at the moment of course since the apple season has been around for a while, at least where I live.

Here is an apple tip for you.
I will use more than one kind of apple variety. That is right. I rarely stick to one kind of an apple. I love the unique taste that I can create in any kind of a baked apple dessert when I use more than one variety of apple. With all of the apples that I have to choose from, it is easy for me to mix them too.
