Super Easy Chocolate Pizza

I love the idea of making a chocolate pizza!

Chocolate pizza is like the best of both worlds- chocolate and pizza.
I like that this is so easy to make and I like that this is a great idea for an easy dessert to share with others.
If you are entertaining, you can pre-make this and bake it when your guests arrive.

Super Easy Chocolate Pizza

Who doesn't like pizza?

Making a chocolate pizza is kind of like making any other pizza.

In both kinds of pizza you have your crust, your base and your toppings.

The crust in a chocolate pizza can be any regular crust. For the sake of ease, why not just use a ready made store-bought crust?

I usually make my own pizza crust, which is quite simple to do considering I've done this a lot.

To make your own crust, you will need ;

  • 2 cups of flour- all purpose
  • 1/2 cup warm water- I use tap.
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for bowl
  • You will need additional as needed flour and oil for kneading.

THE RECIPE

  1. In a small bowl, mix together your yeast and water. Then set this aside.
  2. While your yeast is working, use additional olive oil to grease a large or medium bowl then set the bowl aside. Use additional flour to flour a flat and clean surface where you will knead your dough.
  3. In a food processor or large bowl (bowl if you will do this by hand) combine together your flour, salt, and olive oil.
  4. Slowly add your yeast and water mixture to the flour mix. If you are using a food processor, mix this until a dough seems to form. If mixing this by hand, mix this until you are able to form dough using your hands.
  5. Once you have formed a dough, transfer your dough to the already floured surface and continue to knead for about a minute to a minute and a half.
  6. Now transfer the dough to your greased bowl, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean dish towel draped over it. Place the bowl in a draft-free area and allow to double in size- about an hour.

When your dough is ready,

  3. Brush your pizza dough with the melted butter.
  4. Optional, sprinkle a bit of sugar over the dough.

  6. Remove from oven and apply your toppings.
  7. Return to the oven for a minute or two to allow the chocolate toppings to melt a bit.
