EASY Sugar Free Chocolate Truffles


Truffles are like that quick burst of heavenly chocolate that can easily settle a craving.

I love that truffles make such a fabulous presentation that impresses others whether at a gathering or in a gift presentation.

Sugar Free Truffles

This is one jolt of goodness that I would prefer did not come with a bunch of sugar. I like being about to focus my taste buds on the rich chocolate flavor.


What I like about making truffles for presentations is that I can take one basic batter and split it up to make a variety of truffles.

Defining your truffles.

  • Many people use a heavy cream. I am using Greek Yogurt.
  • Once you get the basic ball made, you can roll it in a topping such as chopped nuts, cocoa, or even coconut.
  • Mix up the kind of chocolate that you use to create a new kind of taste
  • Add a teaspoon of extract or alcohol to really personalize your truffles.
  • I melted a sugar free white chocolate bar and drizzled it over my truffles.

EASY Sugar Free Chocolate Truffles
A delicious treat to enjoy on your own or share with others. This recipe has no added sugar.
  • 8 ounces, bittersweet is popular, I use the Hershey chips Chocolate Chips- sugar free, can use a bar
  • 1/2 cup, can use a heavy cream instead Greek Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon- can use other extract or rum for example Vanilla Extract
  • for topping- optional White Chocolate bar
  • optional-for topping chopped nuts, coconut, cocoa
Use a double boiler or smaller pot in a larger pot. In the bottom of the boiler/bottom pot bring water to a boil and then allow to simmer.While the water simmers, in the top pot add your Greek Yogurt allowing the yogurt to heat and whisking for about 3-4 minutes.Once the Yogurt is heated through, remove it from the heat and whisk in your chocolate (not using the chocolate designated for topping) When your chocolate is melted your can whisk in your extract. Refrigerate for at least an hour. Do not cover.Line a baking sheet, that can fit in your refrigerator, with parchment paper.Remove the mixture from your refrigerator and form balls that are about a teaspoon of mix. Place the balls on the parchment lined pan. Return the pan to the refrigerator for at least an hour. Do not cover.When ready to top, prepare your topping. If you are using nuts, cocoa or something else that the balls will be rolled in, consider placing the topping in small bowl and rolling each ball in it. If you are topping with melted chocolate, simply drizzle the chocolate over each ball leaving them on the parchment. If you are melting chocolate for a dip, use a bowl of melted chocolate and a spoon to lower each ball into the chocolate.Return the truffles to the refrigerator for at least an hour.
